The Minstrel

Welcome back my friends....

Hello and good evening to you all, aye? Congradulations, you have stumbled upon my oh-so humbled of sites, The Minstrel. It's named the Minstrel because, well, I was tapped for ideas and was listening to "The Minstrel in the Gallery" by Jethro Tull. One thing led to another, and voila! Page name.

All About ME!
Well, how about I tell you a little about myself. If you care not about li'l' ole me, please feel free to scroll past this part. That's right, just go, don't look back! I'll survive somehow.
My name is Jack, but I am known by many names, most relating to my hair. I have lots of hair on my head, and local yokels seem to find this fascinating. Hence, they call me things like "Hairboy," "Living Hair," stuff like that.
I'm 17 years old, and I'm a drummer. I play in the school marching band (band dork, aye? Not me- drumline is excused from said label!), Dixie Band (go ahead, call me a dork on that one, i dares ya) and a "garage band" known to the world (Newtown/Holland/Richboro PA) as "The Great Googeley Moogeley. We play mostly classic rock covers, and the occasional, somewhat prog-ish origional.
Despite constantly being called a hippie (again, the hair) I listen to lots of different kinds of music. Yes, most of my favorite bands are 60's-70's rock bands (Hendrix, Cream, The Who, Santana, Frank Zappa/Mothers of Invention, Jethro Tull, etc.), I also listen to a lot of jazz & blues. I'm a big fan of Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Bennet, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, & Son House. Plus, I also have Guns n Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, Beck, Dave Mathews, Michael Lanza, Lou Monte, and The Godfather Suite in my music collection, so put that in yer pipe & smoke it!
Obviously, music is a big part of my life, both playing & listening. When I;m not doing anything musical, rest assured I'm probably either watching the Simpsons, on the computer, or putting my foot firmly in my mouth via letter, e-mail, or spoken rants. Fun stuff. But enough about me...

What's on this site, anyhow?
Glad you asked! You'll find out soon, right after I put it on!

Well, I don't have anything YET, but soon I will. Here are some of the sections I plan to have on this page in the near future. So check back every so often to see what's been added:

~Jack's Music Collection
As I noted before, I'm very much "in" to music. So here, I'm going to post a list of all the CD's tapes & vinyl that I have, and put as many reveiws for them up as I can. Any guest opinions/reviews will be welcome.
~In My Head
This is going to be something I've wanted to do for a long time. Every week or so (yeah right, like I'd be THAT on top of it) I'll post an editorial of some sort. This could be anything from a humorous view on something that happened, some patented Angry Jack Manifesto, or just random thoughts put together. Whatever I think that others would find entertaining and/or enlightening. Also, I'll have a contest to see who can come up with a better name for this section.
~Drummer's Museum
I tried this once before, and it worked out pretty good. I'll have an ever-growing online museum of famous drummers- pictures of the drummmers, along with what band(s) they've played with. Any suggestions are open, as long as you provide me with why they deserve to be up there, and some general info. A pic would be nice, too :)

... So that's what I have in mind. Soon it will be up, so check back, or e-mail me if you like my ideas, and I'll notify you when things get put up. Also, any suggestions, tips etc. you might have are more than welcome. I'm a lonely guy, e-mail brightens my day.

That's it for now; enjoy the few links below, and send me some mail when you're done!
